ABOUT US
Uvalde EMS was founded as a volunteer organization in the mid 1970's to provide ambulance service to the citizens of Uvalde and Uvalde County.  Over the years, Uvalde EMS has progressed to a paid service with a few volunteers.  The goal today, as was in the 1970's, is to provide high-quality medical care in the most cost effective manner for the citizens of the City of Uvalde and Uvalde County.

In addition to providing EMS for the City and County, Uvalde EMS provides emergent and non-emergent transports for Uvalde Memorial Hospital as well as provides ambulances services for standby events.  Uvalde EMS also provides medical support to the Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department at no cost to the Fire Department.

Uvalde EMS is an active participant of Uvalde County Emergency Management, Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council on Trauma.  Uvalde EMS Management is actively involved at the state level to insure that rural and frontier areas of Texas are well represented in EMS related functions.

Currently, Uvalde EMS staffs three full-time ambulances 24 hours/7 days a week and responds to approximately 4,000 requests annually.
